Texas
Because
I'm Texan, I've made this page specifically for Texans who would
like to stay on top of BSL-related activities.
Despite a state law that prohibits BSL, things are getting hot under the collar in Texas. Several cities have stated their intent to pass BSL in defiance of state law, evidently because they want to force the issue with state legislators.

Elections
2006 November
2006 Candidate Stances on BSL We
conducted a survey of almost 500 candidates for Texas Senator and
Representative, asking them for their stance on BSL. Thanks to the
many volunteers that helped with this huge undertaking! We were
plagued with bad phone numbers and unresponsive candidates but we
persevered!
This
is the official candidate list for November elections. Note: To view
the survey results, you will need the free program Adobe
Reader.

Families Against Dangerous Dogs (TFADD) A new group
called Texas Families Against Dangerous
Dogs has been started by a family whose mother/grandmother was
killed by a pack of loose pit bull / Rottweiler mixes. At the moment
it appears that they are interested in stronger non-breed-specific
laws. If you join, you can stay on top of any dangerous dog legislation
they may be involved in assembling, and make your voice heard if
they start leaning toward BSL. It is especially important for you
to join if you have one of the traditionally targeted dog breeds
("pit bull", Rottweiler, Chow, G.S.D., etc) because it
will help dispel the myth that people with certain breeds of dogs
don't care about public safety. Texas
